What if We All Shared It?

I have no doubt that your Facebook feed looks like mine has over recent months:  a never ending stream of reports, articles, and opinions highlighting this broken world. News reels are filled with stories of division, suffering, and violence that separate groups of people by race, religion, or status.  We have certainly prayed like never before for Jesus to return and reign in victory over the chaos.

In the midst of such sorrow and conflict in this world, it's easy to get overwhelmed.  Just last week, I read multiple articles about the bloodshed of innocent children, the destruction of entire cities, and the rampant spread of hatred and violence in lands far away and, at the same time, very close to home.

And, as we each consider the question, "What do we do in the face of times like these?", it is difficult to know the answer.  There isn't one clear answer. But, I know we MUST be doing something...and to pretend that it is not our responsibility is unacceptable.

So, something inside has pushed me forward to write my thoughts down.  And, here I am, asking the question.

This week, what if we really lived like we believe that LOVE HAS NO LIMITS?

"Love Has No Limits"

"Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. It is, in fact, the one thing that still stands when all else has fallen."  (1 Corinthians 13:7-8)

There are many wonderful gifts I've received in my lifetime.  The perfect hand-sewn dress from my mother.  Fingerprint painted pots from my kids.  Handwritten cards from my husband.

But, for so many reasons, this gift is among the most priceless I've ever received.

The Power of Being Known: An Update from Rwanda

One of our family's favorite series is The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.  In the fifth book, The Voyage of the Dawntreader, one child asks another, "Who is Aslan?  Do you know him?" The other child responds, "Well--he knows me."

Many are familiar with the stories of Narnia, and know that Aslan represents God, as He gently but fiercely guides and protects the children through their journey in Narnia.

I love the significance of this one line. Those four words demonstrate the power of simply being known.

After Mark's recent visit to Rwanda, these four words also symbolize the transformation he witnessed at every turn.

A $50,000 Back-to-School Question

Maybe you will read these words today from your home, where your children are enjoying the last few free days of summer.  Or, maybe you'll be reading on your mobile device, as you dart from store to store, gathering supplies for the busy back-to-school season.

Either way, if you have children, teach children, or know children, there is one thing on most minds during these weeks: SCHOOL!  And if they're like my children, they may have their eye on a brand new backpack, pencil pouch or lunchbox they hope to select in the coming days.

As you shop for school supplies this month, we have a $50,000 question for you to consider.

With all that we've been given as American families, and with all that we will spend during this back-to-school season, we would love for you and your children to consider matching your spending, in order to provide for an unsponsored His Chase student in Rwanda.

Would you add us to your back-to-school list?

While we're talking school supplies, did you know the average family in America will spend between $600 and $800 for back to school shopping?

Even if we broke that number down per child and said a family spent $100 to $200 for supplies alone, do you know what that kind of matching gift could do for the His Chase program?

I'll tell you...

A New Phase, the Same Chase

It is intriguing to experience God's hand at work, as He continually refines and reshapes the purpose and mission of His Chase Foundation.  We are in a season of renewal and clarification, which has been not only necessary, but also inspiring.
